Accessing Accounts

First, find out if there are any roadblocks on your school's information "superhighway." That is, whether your e-mail account is on a limited "network" system (for communication only within the college) or it is accessible outside of your college's computer system. If you can access your account through the world wide web, no problem.

Otherwise, you may need to set up an external e-mail account on a private "server." The cheapest option is the truly user friendly "hotmail" system--it's FREE. Simply set-up your account on http://www.hotmail.com. Other more costly services include American Online (AOL), BellAtlantic.net, and IBM Internet. No, we can't answer all of your questions! Ask an overworked and underpaid "HELP desk" attendant at your college's office of computing services. That's the least you should get with the rising cost of your tuition!
